Kirby's Friends Animal Rescue was founded in memory of my dog Kirby, the largest picture at the top of this page, who lost a valiant fight against osteosarcoma. She was my best friend and I still miss her greatly. She was a shelter dog, adopted from the Humane Society as a pup.

I've been rescuing dogs for more than a decade, from high kill pounds, abusive homes and sometimes just finding them on the street. I am a lost dog magnet! I am also a rabbit, bird, pigeon, raccoon, cat, duck, turtle etc. magnet. If it's lost or hurt, it finds me. But my primary focus is dog rescue.

I don't have an actual brick and mortar dog rescue you can visit...YET.., but we are working on it. We plan to have our shelter open by May. It will be a place where the dogs get a lot of love and affection and time outdoors to run and play. This is where you would go to view and meet a dog you are interested in, so email me for directions if you'd like to meet one of my dogs. Presently, I am not able to take cats because I don't have any facilities for housing them.

I have found my purpose in life and that is such a blessing. Most of us wander through our lives wondering why we are here, but I now know it is to help as many animals as I can to find happy lives. And I can always use more help with that, I'm not funded or backed by any groups so I have to fund this whole thing myself, and it's rough!
